This is a photograph of Jupiter on 1/3/12 at 19:55 PST. This is a bit of an unusual image in that there are shadows of two of Jupiter's moons (Europa and Ganymede) transiting the face of the planet. Europa and Ganymede are also visible to the lower right of the planet.
In this image, North is Up.

Notes |
I was very excited to capture the shadows of two moons at the same time. The seeing forecast for the evening was veyr good, however this did not actually happen. The seeing was fair, and by the time I went to take this image, there was a little bit of high clouds. So, the image isn't terribly sharp, but the shadows are clearly visible. |
